Purpose: This Health and Safety policy sets out the commitment of Find Man and Van to maintain safe working conditions for staff, drivers and any contracted helpers involved with the company’s removal and transport services. The policy applies to all activities conducted by Find Man and Van, including vehicle loading, unloading, packing, manual handling and vehicle operation. It is intended to be practical and clear, focusing on risk reduction, continuous improvement and shared responsibility across the team.

The policy outlines roles and responsibilities, safe systems of work, training expectations and incident reporting processes. Find Man & Van promotes an environment where hazards are reported promptly and addressed proportionately. Staff are expected to cooperate with safety arrangements, use personal protective equipment, and follow safe lifting and vehicle-securement procedures. This document aims to support a culture of safety without overcomplicating routine operations.

Scope and Responsibilities

Everyone engaged by Find Man and Van is required to comply with this policy. Management will ensure that sufficient resources are allocated for safety, including training, documentation and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. Drivers and crew members must carry out pre-shift checks, report defects and ensure load safety before movement. Contractors and temporary staff will be given an induction covering essential safety practices and emergency procedures.

Risk Assessment and Control

Regular risk assessments are central to the company’s approach. Assessments identify hazards related to manual handling, vehicle stability, traffic interaction, loading practices and adverse weather. Where risks are identified, suitable controls will be implemented, such as:
